White Love

Since discovering my love for wine over 10 years ago, I was never one to discriminate. Red, white, rosé or sparkling, I’ll drink it all. My heart was taken when I discovered Cabernet Sauvignon. I strayed occasionally but I always came back. I’d drink a Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc occasionally and it just wasn’t giving the same feeling.

Then I got braces. For 26 months it was harder than normal to keep my teeth cleaned. I, also, worried about stains once the braces were off. My plan to counter this was to drink less red wine. Bad enough I’m also a coffee drink. I apologized in advance to my dental hygienist. I would drink a couple white blends here and there, but never quite found my go to white varietal. I can always drink a Pinot Grigio or Riesling, but not stole my heart like Cab!

So now here we are. It’s Spring again, and we’ve recorded 21 episodes of Bad and Boozy Podcast. Reading articles and blogs, listening to podcasts, and connecting with other wine lovers via social media has renewed my interest in seeking out a white love. Not to mention I have a wine chiller that’s never filled. 🤦🏽‍♀️ So, I ventured off to my fave wine shop with my Delectable app ready to select some wines. I chose Yalumba Y Series Viognier & Terra d’Oro Chenin Blanc Viognier.

Viognier is what I’ve been looking for all this time. From Wine Folly “Viognier (“Vee-own-yay”) is a full-bodied white wine that originated in southern France. Most loved for its perfumed aromas of peach, tangerine and honeysuckle, Viognier can also be oak-aged to add a rich creamy taste with hints of vanilla. If you love to brood over bolder white wines like Chardonnay, Viognier is definitely something you’ll like to swirl.” I’ll be trying more as the weather continues to warm, so follow my journey on Delectable.

Happy Spring!!!🍾🥂
